September 11th 2011
This year we are having a Patriot Week kick-off and tenth anniversary 9/11 commemoration at the historic Fort Wayne in Detroit on Sunday September 11th 2011 from 1-5 PM. The day will feature a tribute to first responders, historical re-enactors, live cannons, student led presentations, family friendly activities, student led presentations, music, and several dignitaries. On Monday, September 12, The Oakland County Bar Association's Diversity in the Legal Profession Committee and Thomas M. Cooley Law school are pleased to present a Patriot Week Panel Discussion: "Diversity and Equality in a Post 9/11 World: Have We Crossed the Precipice of Intolerance?" Moderated by Judge Michael Warren. Diversity Committee reception at 5:00 and panel discussion beginning at 5:30 at Cooley's campus in Auburn Hills. Click here for the flyer.

Please join us at the Birmingham Uptown Theatre for a special movie presentation of "One Soldier's Story" on 9/13 at 7:15 p.m. This inspirational film documents the life and sacrifice of one of nation's heroes, and how his family took their loss as a force for good in the lives of our soldiers overseas.
