Daily Ritual - September 11

Revolution

Time to Think:

“If we wish to be free - if we mean to preserve inviolate those inestimable privileges for which we have been so long contending - if we mean not basely to abandon the noble struggle in which we have so long engaged . . . we must fight! I know not what course others may take; but for me, give me liberty, or give me death!”

~ Patrick Henry

Take a few minutes to contemplate by yourself or discuss with a friend the meaning of this quote. Why were the Founding Fathers willing to risk their lives for liberty? Who else has risked or given their lives to defend our freedom? Are there people today that live up to Patrick Henry’s commitment? Are you willing to risk your life for your freedom, the freedom of your family, and the nation?
