Unalienable Rights

Time to Think:

“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.”

Take a few minutes to contemplate by yourself or discuss with a friend the meaning of this quote.

Action Activities:

  1. Short: Brainstorm what the founders might have meant by “pursuit of happiness.”

  2. Medium: Discuss with friends and family other possible unalienable rights, aside from life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
