The Macomb County Bar Foundation presented a mock trial to decide whether Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone or if there was a conspiracy. The audience will act as the Grand Jury and decided! Hon. Peter J. Maceroni served as the judge, Hon. Carl Marlinga as the Attorney for Lone Assassin Theory, and West Bloomfield Twp Supervisor Elect Steven Kaplan Esq. as the Attorney for Conspiracy Theory.

Wreath Laying Ceremony - Hardstein Park - 20178 Cheyenne St, Detroit, MI 48235

The Revolution Flag Foundation hosted a Veteran's Day event. This Day of Service begann with an effort to assemble care packages for active troops and local Detroit veterans. At 2:00 PM, there was a ceremony to unveil a newly restored monument dedicated to a hero of World War II. There were five wreath laying ceremonies at monuments dedicated to highly decorated veterans.

Patriot Week at Comerica Park

Comerica Park – 2100 Woodward Ave, Detroit, MI 48201

The Detroit Tigers recognized Patriot Week during their opening ceremonies. The Civil Air Patrol’s honor guard took to the field and displayed the 7 flags celebrated in Patriot Week to renew the spirit of America before the best fans in baseball. Tickets to this game were raffled off at the Patriot Festival on Sunday, September 18 at the Rochester Hills Museum at Van Hoosen Farm.

Oakland County Circuit Court hosted middle school students from varying schools and districts for a speech competition. Students gave presentations about First Amendment Freedoms in front of panels of judges and lawyers. Awards were presented to the top three speakers. Opening remarks were given by Judge Warren and Judge Matis.

Louisville Slugger Warriors Commemorative Softball Game

The Louisville Slugger Warriors, wounded veterans and a highly-decorated nationally recognized softball team took on the Detroit Connection. The lineup featured both U.S. military veterans and active duty personnel who enlisted after the 9/11 attacks. Most team members have suffered service-connected, permanent injuries. These extraordinary players are athletic and competitive, using the latest prosthetic technologies. This event was sponsored by American House Senior Living Communities and the United Shore Professional Baseball League.  The Louisville Slugger Warriors beat the Detroit Connection 27-26!

Michigan Remembers hosted their 6th annual 9-11 Fund 5K run/walk. This event was held to remember those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001 including 19 with Michigan connections, and honored the brave men and women across Michigan who protect and serve their communities and nation on a daily basis. Funds raised by this event supported the Michigan Remembers 9-11 fund.
